Honua and Hikianalia powhiri

On the 25/3/15 the two Hawaiian waka named Hokule'a and the Hikianalia came to visit all the ManaiaKalani schools at Pt England beach. To sail from hawaii to New Zealand takes many months.


JPEG ImageHokule'a and the Hikianalia were welcomed by Pt England school and other ManaiaKalani schools .We welcomed them with a waiata and haka with all the students there.

That is why the other schools are coming to our beach. The reason the Hawaiians  are coming is because they are here to learn about maori culture and look at our education. We also might learn about Hawaiian Culture.  They might teach us about their waka and how they got here.
